A Moment....

We take a moment to remember Barbara Petit; a friend to farmers, an inspiration to all.

In 2012 we were the recipients of The Georgia Organics Barbara Petit Pollinator of the Year Award for producing GROW!

The award honors an individual or organization for outstanding community leadership in pollinating Georgia's sustainable farming and food movement.

We will miss her.

WE FARM GEORGIA is Online!

This 10 part project was a labor of love. To be able to turn on our cameras and let these subjects tell their stories about where they came from, how they got to Georgia, why they came, and what they want for the future, just blew us away.

Our hopes for this project were manifold:  to shine a light on the diversity of farmers in Georgia, through their stories inspire others to consider farming, and to show the importance of keeping farmland in the family.

Our thanks to the farmers who said 'yes' and allowed us on to their farms and into their lives.

FIELD TRIP! WRAPPED

Over the last three years we have traveled all over Georgia, producing 51 short films called "Field Trip!" on a wide range of farm subjects specific to organic farming in Georgia, with each episode focusing on a particular farm how-to, trick, tip, or hack.

We filmed on many beautiful farms and met a diverse cross section of incredible farmers who opened their doors and gave their valuable time to us. We also heard many stories, trudged through muddy fields, faced a herd of cows, technical problems, bees, weather, and had some great times and ate many fine meals with this outstanding group.

After 51 episodes, we look back and wish to thank all the farmers who stepped in front of our cameras and shared their knowledge. Without you this project would not be what it is.

Thanks to Jonathan Tescher and Alice Rolls at Georgia Organics for bringing us on this project and also to Donn Cooper for letting us take it to the limit.
Thanks to the United States Department of Agriculture and National Institute of Food and Agriculture for the generous grant that made this production possible.
Special kudos to Yoram Benz for the opening animation sequence.

Cheers all,
Christine+Owen

GROW! Premieres at Georgia Organics Conference

What started as a little documentary film about some young Georgia farmers that we thought would be of limited interest to other Georgians, maybe... caught fire and continues to ignite interest around the world.  The dedicated individuals in GROW! are inspiring others to take up the cause, pick up shovels and hoes and grow food for their communities.

Thank you Georgia Organics, Whole Foods Market, Coastal Organic Growers and everyone who contributed to our Kickstarter campaign, attended fundraising events, made anonymous donations, slipped envelopes into our pockets, and helped us make this film a reality.

A special thank you to the farmers for giving so much of their very valuable time. This is your movie.
