Update

What's going on?
GROW! has just won the Earth Award at the 2013 Cinema Verde Film Festival. We have been going to GROW! screenings as it continues to play in festivals, schools, events and for community groups (Dallas, Houston and Austin, Texas; Algona, Illinois; St. Louis, Missouri and Graz, Austria are coming up). We cut a 32 minute version of GROW! for the cable program "Natural Heroes" to be aired on PBS stations and their affiliates in the fall. GROW! is available to stream/download online around the world or order your own 60 minute Deluxe DVD with 30 minutes of extras.

Also up is the second season of Field Trip!, our farmer to farmer series for Georgia Organics. Click to watch season one.
As always we continue to shoot magazine and commissioned assignments (see Postings: Selborne Lane and Unique Nashville).

We are currently in the middle of shooting Terra Firma, our next documentary. Filming takes place in Iowa, North Carolina and Georgia.
And just to keep the hounds of lethargy and sloth at bay, we're in development on a number of other film (documentary/narrative) and photography projects.

On Selborne Lane

Serenbe, Chattahoochee Hills, GA

While filming GROW! for extended periods in the area we set up our production office here. It has been integral to our Georgia experience. A truly beautiful, light-filled, open space. So many great moments and memories; dinners with new and old friends, dancing, cooking, photo shoots, and just hanging out.

BTW: it can be yours...

After weeks of low autumn light, the sun sinks below the horizon and stays there during the depth of winter, but the scarce light has its subtle beauty as it falls on people's everyday life and the unique Arctic landscape.

Assignment: Manyfold Farm

We were asked by Ross and Rebecca of Manyfold Farm to photograph their operation for their new web site.  We said yes because their farm is a photographers dream of beautiful space and light and also because they seemed like the right people to suggest shooting film (yes, the E6 transparency that we all miss so much) for this project.
They, without hesitation, said yes.
While we opted for digital format for much of the farm texture, it was our trusted Hasselblad 501CM that was utilized for the tabletop work.
Thanks for letting us bust out the "old school."

On Assignment...

... in Murray, Kentucky.
A step back in time... and a dry county.
OK- so where the photographers stay while on assignment may not seem like part of any story (that can be told at least...), however this motel, with it's very vintage keys still in use needed to be shared.

Global Growers Network

Short film we produced for the Global Growers Network (pro-bono).

The Global Growers Network (GGN) was founded collectively by leaders and stakeholders in metro-Atlanta’s food-producing refugee community, and it grew out of the successful Burundi Women’s Farm that was started as a project of Refugee Family Services.
